Title: C15 carb choke or no choke
Post by: PJB1 on 01 Mar, 2024, 18:47
I have just bought a new Amal 375/34 monoblock for my 1961 C15. I was surprised that it was not fitted with a choke and so contacted the supplier who said they were not originally supplied with a choke. The handbook is confusing on this matter the illustration of the handlebar shows a choke lever but the exploded diagram of the carb does not show an air valve in the throttle slide.
I could use the old air valve from my old carb in the new one or should I leave it out?

To have a choke lever on the bars and all the slide mechanism in the carb is a great benefit.
Otherwise you have to juggle the tickler , how much to flood the bike and currently , this cold weather demands both.
