Title: Paint Colour - B31
Post by: Fraz on 30 Jan, 2024, 16:22
Hi.
Can anyone please tell me the name of the paint colour on my 1954 B31?
A paint code would also be most helpful.
Many thanks

There are o paint codes for BSAs of that period. BSA simply listed it as maroon with a suffix code of 37 or 36 for a maroon tank with chrome panels and a gold line. e.g. The frame would have part no. 65-4499/37 and the tank would have part no. 65-8222/36. I believe RS Bike Paints can do colours that match. https://www.rsbikepaint.com//en-gb/colours.php (https://www.rsbikepaint.com//en-gb/colours.php)
Incidentally, assuming that is the original registration number, your bike came from Angus in Scotland, probably from a Duncan of Brechin Motorcycles. Long since gone but not far from me.

That's great, thanks.

I believe it did come from Scotland originally.
