Title: BSA B40WD Rear Shock Lower Bushes
Post by: Stebbelaner on 19 Jan, 2024, 10:50
Hi all,
just joined the forum and ride a 1969 B40WD which I'm lightly modifying into trail bike style.
I've made a schoolboy error and bought new rear shocks which have 3/8"ID lower bushes but my  B40WD requires 1/2".I thought I may be able to get the smaller bushes pressed out and replaced with 1/2" but I'm unable to locate any for sale on the net.
Has anyone any ideas who might sell them?
Cheers in advance,
Stebbelaner.

The original Girling 1/2" bore bushes are very difficult to find these days. Best bet is probably to go back to the supplier of your new shocks and get the correct 1/2" bore bushes to suit them, they are usually available with a range of bushes or sleeves so they can be fitted to a range of bikes.

Try on Google. BSA motorcycle suspension bushes. There is a kit for sale bushes have 15mm hole close enough. If not the rubbers are handy make some more bushes with smaller holes.

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like there's some phone calls to be made to Wassell and Hagon.
