Curious to know if an old project of mine is still around. It was based around a BSA pre-unit twin swinging arm frame, altered with gold star type rearsets, plain swinging arm bearings, floating rear brake, styled in a kind of clubmans G50 style, much altered plunger flash tank painted maroon lined panels with Matchless badges, gold star headlight set up, Norton road holder forks, Taylor Dow top yolk/damper knob, oil tank with fluted cut-away & central filler cap. The engine was a much altered matchless G80cs all alloy engine, GP2 13/8 carb, BTH dirt-track magneto, BSA alternator chaincases, amc gearbox. The engine had an earlier timing chest with rev counter drive, mag set behind the cylinder. The engine was shortened , Carrillo G50 con rod, forged +60 goldstar piston, cylinder head with inlet down draughted, and coil valve springs fitted.
Built in the early 1980s, sold in the early 90s, Fred Warmsley had it for a bit, went through a Bonhams auction, last spotted in a classic bike magazine fitted with 8LS Italian front wheel, located in Brighton then.
Any news about the bike would be interesting. Thanks Mike
