Title: Bsa Q7 oil flinger
Post by: Ronnierockets on 12 Dec, 2023, 13:11
I am sorting out bits and pieces for the crankshaft assembly , bearings ect and have found two oil fingers of different sizes
One seems to fit the timing side shaft and the other the drive side
Can anyone anyone advise if the crankshaft has two oil flingers
Thanks..

The 1936 Parts Book shows no oil flinger for the  Q7.
One oil flinger was fitted to some other models, and this would have been fitted against the drive side flywheel.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Steve,
I have since found out that my engine is a Q8  .would I be correct in thinking this model would have an oil finger fitted?
Thanks..

Sorry for the delay in replying.
No, according to the parts book, the Q8 doesn't have one either.
