Title: Clutch driving sleeve removal
Post by: DGBland on 05 Nov, 2023, 13:02
I have decided to take the engine out and replace the big end bearings because the big end has a tiny bit of radial movement. However I can't remove the clutch driving sleeve.
Is this on a taper with a key holding it in place and do I need a bsa tool to pull it free? I can't go any further till I get this off.
,because I need to remove the inner chaincase to lift the engine out.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
David

Just seen your other post, so I assume B31? Does it have the 6 spring clutch? A special hub remover is available as the hub is both keyed and on a taper. If 6 spring, the thread is internal on the removal tool rather than external for the later 4 spring type.
