Title: Avon fairing help!
Post by: -L- on 23 Sep, 2023, 21:05
Just got my dads A10 (1961) back and want to get his fairing reinstalled but I'm struggling with how it's mounted. The bike has been put back together from boxes of bits after my dad "retired" the bike in the 1970's, so I've never seen it complete other than a few pictures. I have no idea if I have all the pieces, the right pieces etc., so am looking for some guidance!

The fairing is (as far as I have been able to work out) a universal fit full Avon. I have two arms which look like they go to the lower frame from the bottom of the fairing, and then two arms that join about headstock height, but not sure where/they they attach.

I'm sure there was either a standard A10 fitting kit, or it was completely 'heath robinson', so would appreciate any photos of mounting solutions you may have so I can figure out a solution!

i will try to take a photo of mine
the headstock has a rounded plate that is  banjo clipped to the frame with two lugs . these attach to a two braces, top and bottom in a v shape and attach to a horizontal brace attached to the fairing by the hand recesses.
the motorcycle shop [mcs ] on eb#y advertises the headstock plate.
