Title: A10 back on the road!
Post by: Brown975 on 08 Sep, 2023, 17:46
Hi all.
Looking forward to having my A10 back on the road again after many years in my garage under a sheet.

Other commitments with house renovating have put my lovely bike on the back burner but shes finally going to be having some vital works done at SRM engineering hopefully very soon.
I have been told they are the best around for anything 60s british.
Whats other peoples experience been like with SRM?  So far they have been very friendly when talking on the phone with the workshop team.

Thanks Adam

If you're based in Wales and are after a crank end conversion then they are very good.

But there are other great companies too who will do the work if you're sticking with the bush. For example Cotterall Engineering near chesterfield (who do a lot of my work) and Seager engineering who have a fantastic reputation. There is also Steve McFarlane (who was mr SRM) who now runs his own separate company.

Not taking anything away from SRM, they are very good. But there are many others also.

SRM are very good at what they do and the items, upgrades and services they sell but you need to be aware they are expensive.

Not quite sure why that was addressed to me?

Anyway, a lot of the spares that SRM sell are comparable with others on the market, I will often shop around and end up using SRM for most of my spares, a good example being the GE plasma hardened valves are about very much a similar price to other companies selling inferior items.
