Title: Re: Monoblock Viton tipped valve
Post by: Bess on 01 Sep, 2023, 12:24
Hi,

I am having trouble with the Viton tipped valve sticking shut. I have changed the valve and seat and the same is happening.

Has anyone had the same and cured the problem?

Best wishes...

Not sticking shut. The float jamming and jamming it open is a common problem.

Hi,

Definitely sticking shut. I have 2 seats, 3 valves and they all stick shut.

Eventually I turned an old valve in an old seat like I was lapping them together which helped. I tried to buy a solid brass valve but they aren't available from Amal.

Best wishes...

Is it a new stay up float?

Autocycle engineering list solid brass alcohol needles on ebay item  265099665159

They do fit the petrol seat.

Hi,
It is a stay up float, the carb is the premier unit.

Thanks Julian, I just bought a pair.

Best wishes...
