Title: M33/B33 etc Magdyno fibre gear tool
Post by: Rog1 on 13 Aug, 2023, 00:00
How do I hold the dynamo driving fibre gear stationary to check it will slip under the correct torque, or do I just assume all is well if I hadn't had a problem before?

I think the nut is set at 12 ft lbs.

In the Lucas workshop instructions "section L5 part B Magdynos"   Figure 3 shows the tool used to lock the gear and figure 6 shows how to check the torque setting.

Figure 3 shows the tool to lock the spindle, not the gear. It's easy to fabricate; I made one. But figure 6 shows the locking plug tool for the fibre gear which would be a lot more trouble for me to make, in order to check the drive slip-setting. If I can get away with not having to do that check, I wouldn't have to make the locking plug as they don't seem to be for sale anywhere.
