Title: Front Hub Bearings
Post by: Geoff Leake on 02 Aug, 2023, 18:41
Evening all, I'm about to assemble the front hub on my 1947 B33 rigid - part number 65-5876. As you know these days the replacement bearings 65-5883 are sealed, so I'm thinking there's no need to fit the felt washer 65-5886 or the retaining washer 65-5887. Am I right to go ahead and leave them out? And is there any need to fill the void with grease? Your advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I would agree that there is no need for them nor to fill the void with grease.

Afternoon Derek, Sorry I'm a bit late in picking up your message, I've been a bit preoccupied the last couple of days. Nevertheless, thanks for confirming that, it's always good to get a second opinion. Cheers.
