Title: B50 Oil pressure warning light
Post by: Servodyne on 11 Jul, 2023, 20:42
Hello all,

I've just completed a rebuild of a US import B50 Goldstar SS and was wondering what other people do with the redundant oil pressure warning light in the headlamp shell. I did try one of those LED charging indicators, but the light was so poor in bright sunlight it rendered it almost useless.
At the moment I've merely earthed the lead that would normally go to the oil pressure switch so at least I've got an indication when the ignition is switched on.

Cheers
Jim

I installed a red LED readout volt meter. I have no problem reading the small screen in daylight. It also has 2 USB ports, on/off switch and a handle bar mount bracket. $21cdn on Amazon.

I was going to wire it direct to the battery but I found there was a very small current draw even with the switch turned off (????) so wired it to the unused oil pressure light lead.
