Bit of a long shot here - My Dad owned a BSA Gold Star registration 264 APL (registered 12th May 1956), I believe he was the first registered keeper.
Sadly my Dad died in 2019, I miss him terribly, he got me into bikes of course - I currently own a Triumph Thruxton 1200 R which he would have loved.
Anyway, I was going through some old pictures and I found some of the Gold Star, looked up the registration and to my surprise the last keeper registered it in 2021.
I'd love to trace this person/bike, if only so myself and my mother could look at the bike. Have a couple of pictures that I would happily share. I've attached a photo from Weston-super-Mare of a pair of Gold Stars.. the one on the left is being ridden by my Dad with Mum as pillion.
