Title: B50T Single Seat
Post by: RTwo on 12 Jun, 2023, 07:49
Hi all

I'm currently restoring a 71 B50T and looking at putting the single seat on it.
Could anyone confirm that the frame mounting points are the same for the single and dual seats?

TIA

I have a B50Mx with a single seat and as far as I can remember it is mounted in exactly the same way as a B50T dual seat. In particular, it uses the same brackets on the frame to bolt it down. I also have a B50T and will double check the seat mountings when I get back later this morning.

A friend loaned me the seat from a Triumph TR5T to try on my B50T which fitted straight on (frames are very similar). It looks a nice setup to me as the 'banana' seat look isn't the best in my opinion.

That looks to be a 3/4 size seat and slightly too small for a pillion passenger?

Checked both of my B50's and the single and dual seats bolt to the frame in exactly the same way. I believe I bought the B50Mx single seat from BBB but vaguely remember having problems with the front bracket which I either had to modify or replace by one I had fabricated. I would have to remove it to remember exactly what made it difficult to fit.
