Title: M33 small end bush
Post by: Rog1 on 26 May, 2023, 17:56
Shouldn't my new small end bush have a hole in it which lines up with the hole at the top of the conrod?

Definitely. It's favourite to drill it before it's reamed to clear the drilling burrs.  Ron

Okay, thanks. It's now drilled.

The bush is now in the small end and reamed to size. The old one didn't want to come out, but I persevered. Took a while though.

Ah it sounds like you drilled it before you fitted it. It comes undrilled so you don't have to try and line it up.  Ron

Yes, I drilled it first; it seemed easier. Now I have to finish lapping the head joint in because I don't want it to blow again; another simple sounding but time consuming job.
