Hi guys
What oil should I use for my gearbox on my 1971 a65. , also I was told that for the engine penrite fully synthetic 20-50 is fine instead of mineral oil as it clings too the surfaces better, I also fitted a return oil filter to help,
What's your thought as I haven't stated the bikesince rebuild

Gearbox needs EP90 oil. As long as you keep it away from the clutch, you can use whatever type of oil you want in the engine as long as it is 20W/50 or whatever suits the climate where you live. It's a case of you pays your money and takes your choice with mineral oil being the cheapest and fully synthetic oil being the most expensive. Given that I don't do large motorcycle mileages and I'm not worried about wearing out the engine, mineral oil is my normal choice.
