Post by: Teddles on 26 Mar, 2023, 03:20
What sort of spark plug works well in  Blue Star BSA?

Hi, I used to own a W35/6 and used NGK 18mm A6 plugs. The W35 is a side valve so doesn't need a hard plug. As far as I am aware these plugs are still available although they use a 14mm spark plug spanner but are still short reach 18 mm plugs.

Thanks Alan, thats a start. Looks like you cant buy the NGK one in Australia but a conversion chart shows a Champion D14 or D16 which are available. Maybe I will start with a D14 and see how it goes. At least I now have a plug that fills the hole in the head.
Cheers

Ted, BSA Service Sheet No.25 1933 shows all Blue Stars were fitted with a Lodge H1 spark plug.
I understand this is equivalent to Champion D9.
