Title: B33 carburetor
Post by: Geoff Leake on 23 Mar, 2023, 14:35
Hello everybody, the carb on my 1947 B33 rigid is (not to put too fine a point on it) knackered! I've never had much success with refurbs, especially when the body is worn - it seems a waste of time. So unless someone can come up with a convincing argument to the contrary, I'm planning to get a new one. Would anybody like to say which is the best one for the job in terms of originality and functionality etc.? Thanks.

I have a 1948 B32 Competition which originally had a 276, similar to the 289 on the B33.  A previous owner has replaced it with a Monobloc and to be honest I can't fault it. It starts easily and runs cleanly and doesn't look out of place. I think they all changed to 376 Monoblocs for 1954.

Thanks Derek, hearing from somebody with first-hand experience is very helpful.
