Title: C15/B40 and Tiger Cub
Post by: Stubaker58 on 20 Mar, 2023, 17:46
Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is any overlap in parts for Tiger cubs and the early unit singles, specifically the gear lever quadrant arrangement? Would the Cub part fit a B40? Here's hoping!
Many thanks.

I think the short answer is no! The earliest C15 engine was based on the Tiger Cub and, although the gear change quadrants are of a similar looking design, the parts numbers are not compatible. I think that is due to the Tiger Cub being physically a smaller engine than the C15 engine with probably a shorter gear change quadrant shaft used.

Just comparing a T20 and C15, it is noticeable how much narrower is the depth of the timing covers on the former! Hence the need for a longer quadrant shaft on the C15.
