Title: A65 cam shaft gear.
Post by: Mike Farmer on 16 Mar, 2023, 10:54
 :) :) :)

Greetings.

I have a slight problem here. I cant get my Cam shaft gear onto the shaft even with judiciuos application of FBH. Seriously gently.

Were there two different cam shaft gears, I know the cam shaft is the correct part No. OR is there an almost identical item from another Bike

Thank you

Same parts numbers at least 62-70. Have you measured the pinion ID and shaft OD to see how much interference there is?

No Not mejurred. But my initial reaction is that there is a lot of seriously tight. i have still to ascertain whether either item is danage flawed then I guess we'll see. May just have to get bigger FBH; hope not. At the moment it is a long way down importance road.

After very serious examination with magnifying glass the keyway on the shaft was very slightly "lipped". Defo not sufficient to see with "my" naked eye. So a few minutes with 150 grade WaD, solved.
