Title: Inner Idler Bush Spinning
Post by: Kevin1963 on 07 Mar, 2023, 15:36
Probably stupid question but assume that the inner idler bush should not move?

Can rotate it freely and has some movement in and out.

So an oversized OD bush is probably going to be needed? does any one do one? Or have one made?

Would not have found this is if I had not found half a split pin on the gauze inn the sump!!
One of the conrod bolts has decided to lose its pin!!
So engine just about stripped was hoping for a quick rebuild?

A10 engine

It should be an interference fit in the crankcase. I would buy a new one and check whether that is an interference fit and perhaps use a coating of retaining fluid to make sure it stays in place. However, if the crankcase hole is now oversize, you would have no choice but to have a new bush machined up.
