Title: BSA 650cc 1961 search… Can anyone help?
Post by: Steven-Heymer on 04 Mar, 2023, 00:07
Hello all - my very first post here - hope all are well!

Well... my Dad is coming up to his 83rd Birthday and he loved and owned a number of Motorcycles in his youth which he often tells tales about...! Perhaps I'll venture into his lost Gold Star story at another date when I can get hold of more info from him, but today I'm hoping to find out if any member here owns or knows the where abouts of the following BSA? Apologies, I know not what model it is, but was surprised in my research to find it's still out there (thank you DVLA!). I'm hoping if the owner is here if they'd be kind enough to share a picture of it as it is today - I think my Dad would be over the moon to see it again!

And so, it's a BSA 650cc originally (still?) in red, manufactured in 1961. Its registration is 206 KNK.

Here's a fab picture of it circa mid to late 1960's and with a side car... oh! And that lovely occupant in the Side Car is my Mum. The picture was taken in Woolacombe Bay in North Devon.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any help you can kindly provide  :)

It looks like a super rocket with alloy cylinder head

It's obviously an A10 Super Rocket from the MOT history and, surprisingly, has been MOT'd every year until relatively recently despite, presumably, being MOT exempt? If you haven't done so already, it would be worth posting the message on the more dedicated BSA A7/A10 forum (https://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php).
