Title: A7 Star Twin Crankshaft
Post by: natsec on 01 Feb, 2023, 11:27
Can anyone advise on this please, should there be an oil hole drilling on the timing side big end crank journal for a ZA7S Star Twin engine whereas the drive side journal is drilled?

Thanks chaps.

I'm not sure I understand the question - both big-end journals must have an oil hole drilling to lubricate them?

If you are referring to the big end bearings normally only the drive side would have a hole in the bearing. I know this applies to the later twins where a 1/64" hole directs oil onto the drive side cylinder bore. I have just checked, only the drive side bearing has the hole. The parts book shows only the one shell as having the hole.
