Title: A7 front wheel disasemble
Post by: JoelCardoso on 12 Jan, 2023, 21:32
Hi..
I think i have a front wheel and forks off a Super Rocket on my A7.. can somebody explain me how to disasemble the front hub? I already take off the wheel by removing 2 bolts on each SIDE off the forks but the hub still remains conected to the shaft?
And whats the Diference on the Super rocket forks to the A7 forks? Thanks

On all of these BSA bikes, the front wheel spindle is held in place inside the hub by the two bearings on either side of the hub. To remove the spindle, you first have to knock out one of the bearings. It's not like a modern bike where you have to pull out the spindle first to allow you to remove the wheel.

You ask for the difference between the super rocket forks and the A7 forks, that would depend on the year. If they are from the same year then they will be the same. If for example your forks are from 1960 super rocket they would be different from a 1957 A7 or a 1954 A7. This is because the 1954 model had half width hub the 1957 had a full width Aluminium Ariel type hub whereas the 1960 super rocket had a full width cast iron hub. But the A10 and A7 forks for 1954 and 1957 and 1960 were the same.
