I've just bought a used seat for my A65 OIF.
A bargain price and the steel pan is rust free and not cracked or bent.
As you'd expect it's going to need a replacement cover, but where the old cover has torn, and the foam has been exposed, it's become hard and brittle.
Any magic cure for this ?
Wintergreen oil ?
Or maybe I can let in a new section of foam.
Upholstery isn't my strong point and previous forays into seat foam repair haven't ended well.
Apart from the exposed area, the rest of the foam feels really good and isn't out of shape, which is why I'm reluctant to scrap it.
Hi,
Here's a link to my goto regarding seats:

Best wishes...
I will second Leightons
My Super Rocket seat needed a new foam and the cover had a couple of tears. A new foam from Leightons wa superb quality, fitted well and transformed the seat.
I was not keen to loose the patina of the original cover so repaired the tears with a vinyl repair kit. This was not difficult, was inexpensive and provides a pastime at meet ups when I ask people to find the repairs. The repairs have held up for several thousand miles so far.
Thankyou both!
TBH I wasn't sure that Leighton's still existed.
I had a seat done by them about 30 years ago the quality was first class.
IIRC they were in the Gunsmiths quarter of Birmingham then.
Certainly if I have to replace the whole foam Leighton's will be my first choice
They were in Price Street when I last visited them pre-pandemic not far from Aston University but they appear to have moved out of Birmingham and are now on the northern edge of the city with a Walsall Address.
