Title: 1954 B31
Post by: pinkracer on 28 Dec, 2022, 15:18
I'm rebuilding a 1954 B31 and am in need of a rear sprocket.  It has the 43 tooth 5/8x1/4 sprocket welded to the brake drum and whilst removing it is straightforward enough I need a replacement sprocket in steel.  I've being searching for a blank sprocket but without any luck, can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I might get one or a suitable alternative I can machine out the centre.
Cheers
Dave

Have you spoken to Talon at Yeovil?

Their website came up in one of my searches but I thought they only supplied alloy sprockets, I'll drop them an email anyway,
Thanks

I'm assuming a plunger rear suspension B31?  The drum and sprocket is available as a spare part from a few vendors (BSA part no. 65-6294).  HTH

Thanks Ian but it's a rigid one and I can't find anyone listing one.  I've found a couple of suppliers of blank sprockets but the outside diameter seems too small, I'll give them a ring next week when the world is back to normal.
