Title: Hello.
Post by: Grumps on 19 Dec, 2022, 10:44
Hi

I have just bought a 1956 B31 that looks like it has been looked after over the years. This is my second one, the first being 50 years ago when I bought my second 'big' motorbike.

This B31 still has 6v positive earth electrics and given that it has served well for the last 66 years I won't be rushing out to alter that just yet.

Anyway, I look forward to learning all about my bike and joining in the fun on this forum.

Hi Grumps,

Nice 'big' bike you have become owner of.   As well as fun on the Forum there is the whole of the BSAOC out there so if not already a member or considering membership, join and get along to a Branch or event to show off your bike.

Dave.

Hi Dave .

I joined the BSAOC today.

Big bike. In those days 350cc was quite big but pals had Nortons and Triumphs up to about 750cc so mine was a tiddler compared. But against my 100cc step through it was massive. ;D

Since then I had owned many bikes the biggest of which was a K1600GLT. Currently have a V-Strom 650, Xmax 300 and R1250RT.

This B31 is an itch I have to scratch.   ;D ;D

Hi,

I must admit that my first BSA, a B40 seemed huge after my 50cc Honda I passed my test on and I suppose that as it basically has the same running gear as an 650 A10, the B31 is physically a big bike.
