Title: A10 tank badges
Post by: topher on 04 Dec, 2022, 19:04
Has anyone experience of painting the tank badges found on an early A10? I have a couple that need refurb. Not interested in original showroom finish/colour, just technique - spray can? paintbrush? Show me yours  ;)

I'm a fairly experienced spray painter and these embossed badges would not be easy to paint using the usual techniques. The only way I can think of doing it would be to spray paint the complete badge using an aerosol can in gold/beige and then use a fine brush to paint in the black background within the circular part. Obviously, you would need a steady hand to do this part of the painting.

That was what I was thinking of doing. Initial attempt at doing both colours freehand is a mixed bag so may redo with spray and a brush...
