What is the purpose of this strange flat part , shown by red arrow ?
What is the use of the hexagonal hole ?

Your photo is too small to see what you're talking about.

It is the lower left hand headlamp bracket. The hexagon is used to hold the detachable spark plug for dismantling by the roadside.
Certain G14 models had the hexagon at the rear of the rear carrier.

Your photo is too small to see what you're talking about.

The forum  refuses "too heavy pictures" .
So I had to reduce its size ... Too much I confess .

This limitation does not exist anymore on most other sites ... The system does  the shrinking job itself, instead of refusing your pictures.

Jean Luc,
I need to make one of these brackets.
Could you give me the distance between centres of the fixing holes and the thickness of the steel?
Many thanks.
Steve.

Distance between centres is 105 mm , the same as on the " normal" one on the the opposite side.
Thickness is about 3 mm
