Title: A10 1960 silencers
Post by: MALCOLM POUND on 20 Nov, 2022, 14:16
Hi

Does anybody know of new silencers for a 1960 A10 that are comparable in quality, fit, sound, internals etc to the old TOGA ones that I fitted earlier this century (!)?
Cheers, Malcolm

You could try Classic Bike Shop in Redditch. They sell the UK made OIF silencers which are to original spec. I would avoid Armours who seem to have forgotten that silencers should do just that and Feked.
I've got a downer on Feked as I used to use them a lot until I bought some fork stanchions pre pandemic that wouldn't grip in the bottom yokes. On measuring them against the originals, they were 0.005" down on diameter at the relevant point. I took them back post pandemic and they wouldn't refund me as they said I'd left it too long.
So, if anyone wants a 'FREE' pair of pre OIF A65 stanchions that may or may not fit, (you may have to shim that area) let me know.

Thanks Chris

I'll take a look at Classic Bike Shop silencers. Yes, definitely not armours!

Cheers

It pains me to recommend my old boss at fecked but unless anything has changed their exhaust were really good. Silencers manufactured on site and chromed really well in the Midlands.
