Title: I need friction plates for B25 clutch
Post by: AltcarBob on 09 Nov, 2022, 13:50
I need to buy 4 friction clutch plates but everything I have bought has been nasty Taiwanese plates that are thinner than the BSA service limit.

Can anyone recommend a mail order seller that sells proper British made friction plates NOS preferably if such a thing still exists. I have seen Surflex Italian made plates for sale are they the correct thickness and of good quality .

Getting a bit tired of sending back plates that are too thin even when I have spoken to the seller to check they're not crappy Taiwanese .

Hi Bob,

Back in to fray I see.   Surflex plates have always served me well and at one time they were the 'go to' after market ones.  I have heard that they are not as good as they used to be but that seems to be the case with many things these days.
Have you tried C&D Autos?

Dave.

I haven't heard of C&D I will Google them.

I am just aquiring parts at the moment I still don't have the strength in my hands to do any spannering but I am getting stronger and more dextrous. I hope to get back in the shed soon.

Hi Bob,

Yes.  They do not have a website as such and their details are in The Star.
Also, PES are unit single specialists - details in The Star as well

Dave.
