Post by: Sigmund on 01 Nov, 2022, 11:35
1953 BSA M33 rigid
Dynamo need repair and my question is: How much on right side of engine must be removed before dynamo can be pulled out? Only dynamo, not magneto. Regards, Sigmund

Remove the D and F wires from the dynamo, loosen the magdyno securing strap by undoing the bolt ( you don't need to undo it completely). Then loosen the screws of the strap holding the dynamo to the magneto. Finally, remove the nut on the drive end holding the dynamo to the magneto. This is the only thing on the RH side you need to remove. You should now be able to withdraw the dynamo towards the left hand side leaving the magneto in place and the timing undisturbed.
