Does anybody have experience of replacing / repairing the rear brake pivot pin on a plunger frame? Mine is badly worn. Is it (a) screwed into frame, (b) welded / brazed into frame or (c) part of the frame itself. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Mine was pretty worn but quite functional. I fitted a grease nipple to improve lubrication and adjustable pedal stop to achieve better pedal position.
I'm not an expert on the B33 and you haven't said what year it is but the parts book seems to show the brake pedal pivots on a stud (67-4032) that screws into the frame with a nut on the outside.
Year is 1952, the removable pivot i think you are referring to is on swinging arm version as opposed to the plunger arrangement. Any chance of a side on shot of the, thank pedal, your pedal return is in a different position to mine and i cannot quite work out the adjustable stop position, grease nipple great idea, thanks
I don't know whether the pivot on my 1950 plunger is totally original and may have had a stud and nut to start with. Perhaps somebody will know. The wear will probably be in the pivot shaft and/or pedal pivot tube. Hope you can work it out what's needed from this slightly blurred photo.
Thanks for doing that Greenfield, position of brake pedal and footrest looks so different to mine, will have a closer look in the morning and scratch of the head to see if your arrangement is better, will update later, thanks.
For the plunger and rigid frames, the pivot pin is braced into a lug on the frame.
