I am rebuilding my 1959 A10 engine and have included a Wassell K2F Magneto Replacement Kit.
There are two static timing marks on the stator, one for clockwise and one for anticlockwise rotation.
The Wassell instructions say to use the anticlockwise mark for BSA Twins. But, when looking at the rotor in the K2F replacement housing it rotates clockwise.
Can anyone advise which timing mark is correct for an A10 with the K2F Replacement kit.

Use the clockwise marks. Looking at the timing side the mag rotates anti-clockwise so from the other end ie primary, side it rotates clockwise.

As Dave said use the clock wise mark ..... as both me and Dave had this only a month or so ago as I was setting mine up as I have fitted the same one as you have, and I was Trying to use the Anti clock wise and it don`t work......also use a timing Disc off the primary side crank shaft.... I set mine to the 35 dig BTDC runs a treat with that set up and starts first Kick Hot or Cold.
Also where have you fitted the twin Coil...don`t do what I done, I fitted it in the tool Box and it over heats the coil in there.....so Now mounted under the Battery so hope it keeps cooler there... ;D

Thank you for the advice on the static timing and the warning about the overheating coil.
I haven't fitted the coil yet but am probably aiming for somewhere under the front of the petrol tank. I have an oil filter in he normal battery slot with the battery in the tool box.

also I have heard people putting the oil filter in the oil tank and leaving the battery where it is LOL.... ;D
so as for putting the coil under the front of the tank it might show and people will see you have Electronic ign
on the bike ...unless of course you are Not worried of anyone knowing that............ :-X

I would imagine that a person who has a problem with seeing a coil will also have noticed the 'mag. lookalike' EI. Just put it in the location that you want it and enjoy your bike.

Your bike do as you want with it. If people moan ask to look at their bike. It usually shuts them up.

I have had this all the time with people saying Mine is Not a true RGS, Well Mine is a close to original as you can get it but people still tell me it is a Rep...... like you say look at their bike or bikes.....
