Post by: briancairns on 09 Sep, 2022, 14:09
I am curious what the 'inspection hole' as outlined in image is for?

Thanks yet again Idie!
What do I lubricate with and how much and often? I have cap of just to replace brushes.

Thanks in advance

To be honest I wouldn't use oil. Just put some grease on your finger and push into the bearing. That will be probably the only time you would need to do it. If you use oil it tends to be thrown off and gets on the commutator, that is why the hole was deleted on later caps.
