Title: Battery for C15
Post by: Barnsey on 13 Aug, 2022, 14:49
The battary in my C15 looks to be two of these, back to back, hastily strapped together with sticky insulation tape  (Yuck! I hate insulation tape! )

Could anyone kindly recommend a better alternative?

   Thanks,

I ran a pair of cyclons taped together for many years on the Super Rocket and they were v good.
I have moved over to Motobatt, which seem to last longer and hold a charge for a very long time if the bike is used irregularly.
I don't know what size will fit your bike so you'll have to measure the size of the battery space.

I will measure the space.  One of the Cyclons is on charger right now, so I will get an idea if they are any good.

It might be a mistake to replace them straight away if I end up being tempted by a 12V electronic conversion.

OK,  The bracket will take a battery 60mm wide and 140mm tall, perhaps a little taller at a pinch.

If you run cyclones you have to make sure your charging system isn't overcharging. If it is short runs are OK but on longer runs cyclones can't "gas off" properly. That's why there have been so many cyclones batteries that have failed/gone misshapen.

OK, Thanks for that!  I'll use the cyclones to get the bike running and then I think I might look for something better.
