Title: C15S Timing
Post by: bobby12 on 02 Aug, 2022, 05:41
Hi
British bikes are new to me so please excuse possible silly question.
I have my engine out with the cyl head and barrel off . Because I also have gear box problems the gear cluster is  removed, while this cluster is out I wanted to check the cam shaft timing is ok but how do I find tdc on the compression stroke whilst at this stage, not 180 out, hope that makes sense

Off the top of my head, if you align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft pinions, this will position the engine at TDC on the compression stroke. To double check it is on the compression stroke, make sure that in this position the two cam lobes are pointing downwards.
