Title: Remote oil filter mounting C15
Post by: courtney on 24 Jul, 2022, 20:46
Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone on here has any idea of where to fit a remote oil filter on a C15, preferably with a picture. I have the basic Norton type of remote filter. I did make up a bracket, and had it quite neat, but I don't think it was ideal. Is there anything I should consider when mounting with regards to hose fitting or routing?

Many thanks

Is anybody running an external oil filter on a C15? Looking around online it doesn't seem that I can find anyone that is.

Hi, if you have a bracket that is rigid there is not much that can go wrong IMHO. Some pics of your installation would perhaps render a few opinions. I will definitely install filters on my B25 and A65, however they need a rebuild first.

The WD B40 had an inline filter in the return line. It was a tubular filter that didn't take up a lot of room and was easy to replace the cartridge.
See if you can find one of these.

It is always a challenge to find space to fit a filter, especially if you want it out of sight.

Ensuring a smooth no potential kinks oil line route adds to the challenge.

The alternative to the norton type is the somewhat smaller Morgo type though these seem to be in short supply.

Not a very elegant arrangement on the B40WD although very practical!
