Title: Lost Key
Post by: Norfolk on 12 Jul, 2022, 21:13
Hi, I'm as green as it comes when bike restoration is concerned so please take it easy on me! I bought what I think is a C12 some time back well at least I think it's a C12, the log book just states a '56 BSA but the frame number has C11g so it's one or the other. My problem is this; it's been sat for a long time in my garage and the key for the ignition switch has gone walkies. Is there a way of bypassing the switch? Thanks in advance.

welcome.
have a look at Draganfly parts , if you have the spade type it is easily remade or bought.
from the parts list you should be able to identify.
Also look at the dating area and check frame and engine numbers to see what you have.

may be easier getting a replacement key than taking apart and "hot wiring" the original switch. although easilly done.

get yourself a copy of the parts book and service manual both available from the Owners club web site and off you go.

Thanks for your help, I have managed to identify it as a C12 and I have a key on its way. Thanks again
