can anyone tell me did the B31s sent to the Imdian army have the same number on both frame and engine regards Jim
Around 1200 plunger framed B31 models were sent to the Indian Army in early 1954.
The engine and frame production numbers (the bit which follows the prefix) were the same with frame prefixed BB31S and the engine prefixed BB31.
Numbers in the 9 thousand and 10 thousand range.
Dont be suprised if a frame is fitted with an engine from a different original bike, maybe done in the Indian Army workshop.
