Title: Royal star 1969/1970
Post by: Dunc Milne on 01 Apr, 2022, 21:31
Hi is there much difference between a 1969 Royal star and a 1970 model. Mine is registered as a 1970 but was built in early 1969. Are badges on side panels the same? Or is there other differences? Thank you.

From a cursory look at the 1969 and 1970 parts books, it's very hard to see a significant difference.

Hi,
From what I can ascertain, November 1969 onwards, (engine number 01656 onwards) the Royal Star had stronger con rods, bigger cylinder barrel base flange, improved crab, new oil pump, front fork legs hard chromed and smaller ignition coil. There was no other change and the model was discontinued around October 1970.

Best wishes...
