Title: Bsa plunger a10 centre stand
Post by: Ronnierockets on 19 Feb, 2022, 20:34
Hi ,can any member advise where the top of the Main stand spring fits, please.. (BSA plunger A10 )
Ok,the parts book shows the bottom of the spring fits  on to a flat piece which is welded to the centre of the lower cross bar of the stand
But the parts book doesn't show any fitting to hook up the top end of the spring,
can anyone help
Thanks..Ronnierockets..

Studying various pictures, it looks as though there might be a bracket with a hole in it  for the spring on the front side of the down tube just in front of the centre stand pivot pin. From the parts diagram, you might think the spring should hooks on to the pivot pin but I don't think this would provide the required turning moment.

Hi,

There should be an eye just under the engine/gear box mount on the down tube.

Dave.

Hi Spaceman and Dave, thank you both for your help
With the bike up on the lift I located the "EYE" which the spring hooks into
Speaking of eyes...I probably should have gone to   "spec savers"
Thanks for your help .
Regards..Ronnierockets.
