Title: Fork fit in yokes
Post by: Phil C on 19 Feb, 2022, 17:04
Evening all,
If, before refitting a (heavyweight) fork (to a 1965 B40F), you try a trial fit, by sticking the fork up there without the spring attached, is there any reason why you wouldn't be able to ram it all the way to the top, to where the top cap fits? Without using any tools, just sticking it up there by hand.

In theory should be OK but if the fork is assembled - bottom, bushes, seal holder etc - it may telescope.

Yes, realised that just after my post.  Thanks anyway Julian.  Phil
