Title: Podtronics vs A Reg3
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 16 Feb, 2022, 10:47
Hi,

I think my reg/rec is on the blink so if after testing I may need a replacement.  Podtronics at £89.95 or A Reg3 at £39.95.
Is the Podtronics worth the extra £50?

Dave.

Be aware that if you have electronic ignition you will probably need to buy another "black box" to cancel noise which upsets the ignition.
I have never had this problem with A reg units.

I have a Podtonics on a bike and the bike has always had a mystery hiccup on hard acceleration.
I read also that the Podtronics unit makes a lot of electrical "noise" and can upset electronic ignition systems, thus I have bought,( but not yet fitted )just such a black box designed to suppress this "noise". I will fit it soon to test the theory so we`ll see.

I bought it from from Rex`s Speed Shop. There is info on the teccy pages of their website that actually highlights the issue with certain Podtronics units, and loads of other useful electrical info that helps even me to understand electrics :P
.
Great website and helpful guys who understand all things bike electrical- usual disclaimer :no I have no "connection" to Rexs, just a satsified customer (Ha Ha- see what I did there- connection!) Bob C
