Hi all.
Bit of a long shot.
Would anyone know what the thread would be on a Triumph Tigress Scooter. It is 3/8 and I thought BSP.
Thanks in advance.
Barry.
All BSA bikes of the later 1950's and most of the 1960's used BS threads: BSF, BSW and BSC. The 3/8" thread was 20 tpi for BSF, 16 tpi for BSW and 26 tpi for BSC. If the thread looks very fine it is probably BSC, moderately fine it is probably BSF and coarse it is BSW. Most times for teh cycle parts they would use BSC and use BSW if screwing into the Aluminium engine.
I think the only BSP thread is on the petrol tap which I believe is 5/16" the rest are normally B Cycle thread, unless in ally which are normally Whitworth.
