Can anyone tell me why I am getting drips of oil from the breather when the engine is running on my Super Rocket?.....thanks.
If it is a lot then could be any of these;
Breather not properly assembled - wrong thickness cork.
Excess crankcase pressure caused by worn rings/bore/guides, rings not bedded in, poor scavenging of oil from sump.
But expect a little after a good hard run.
If bike wet sumps then it will blow oil until excess cleared.
i would also add a loose oil pump or blockage in the return flow or p r valve not seating to that list, too much oil in the sump. but the favorite is a worn out cork breather gasket.
what does the oil return in the oil tank look like when the engine expels oil from the breather?
Thanks so much for the reply......the return is flowing excellent back to the tank and the engine has been re-built professionally. Giving it some thought, it may be the residual oil in the engine dropping into the sump when the engine has stopped ???
Furthermore I have since fitted a 'Ballafix' quarter turn tap on the flow to prevent wet sumping when standing and I'll see how that goes. Many thanks to you Julian & Eddie guys.
