Title: B25 British Filters Ltd Re Assembly Help
Post by: FirebladeDreamer on 03 Jan, 2022, 18:39
Can anyone help with the order of reassembly. All the bits came out with a bit of a rush into the draining tray.
It's mentioned in RR's book but not, sadly, with an exploded diagram.

I'm sure A goes on first (topmost) but there is a small rubber o ring (not shown) thats already on the outlet downtube

A is followed by the circlip B which sits in a groove and keeps A up.

Then there is the element C not shown.

After that it's probably F but who knows.

There does seem to be some sort of rubber seal on top of the hex head of the long bolt that holds it all together.

Well I contacted British Filters and they came up with the attatched diagram. Sadly they didnt have another diagram that identified the numbered parts.
Its a bit of help I guess.
You can just click on the attatched .pdf below.

I don't think the diagram helps. If I could get at my B25, I would offer to take the filter apart to remind me how it all goes back together. However, I believe the filter is similar to the Vokes filter shown in the attached as far as sealing the lower part of the assembly (items D-H). I would then assume washer A fits on to the filter perforated inlet tube retained by circlip B

Thanks for the replies Spaceman. The Volks one from the video looks a bit different to the BF one.
