Title: B31 clutch chain wheel corks
Post by: Henry on 19 Dec, 2021, 12:09
I have a 1948 rigid frame B31 with a now slightly slipping six spring clutch, tightening the six springs and checking clutch is lifting square with a dial indicator didn't help the slipping although it did make the lever wild hard to pull in ! Further inspection reveals the corks in the clutch chain wheel are completely done and are allowing metal to metal contact, does anyone know where you can get new corks for the chain wheel or is there another alternative out there to fix the chain wheel? Any ideas or info is most welcome.

Thank you Pete C and Steve.S for the two good bits of information on where I can hopefully get sorted with some corks for the clutch chain wheel on my B31, never thought there was someone in the U.K still doing these kind of repairs for clutches but thats the advantage of being in the BSA owners club where other members can help you out with useful information, cheers guys.
