Title: 1964R rear engine plate mounting bolt

Hi all. am having trouble getting the 2 3/4 x 5/16 rear engine mount bolt in. Its too long for the gap between the back of the chaincase to engine mounting. Do i have to split the crank cases to fit it ??. For an A65R 1964
