Title: 1937-8 B range gearbox/ engine plates
Post by: Gavey on 03 Oct, 2021, 18:12
Hi, My B22 has a C 10/11 gearbox fitted at present  - this means the clutch is too high, the chaincase has been butchered to fit and the battery won't fit properly. I want to put it back to a B range box but my gearbox plates are home made items to suit the C10 box. Does anyone have a B20 - B26 in bits that they could draw around a plate and provide me with a drawing so I can make some to the original spec.

Hi Ernie, I can probably help with gearbox plates, I've had new plates laser cut from 5mm plate (metric equivalent to original 3/16") and have the drawings for them on computer which I could email to you so you could have some cut locally to where you live?
The 1937 and 1938 plates are not the same so you'd need to let me know which year. I haven't got any 1939 plates to tell if they are different again.
Let me know if that's any use.

Hi Rupert,

That's excellent news. My bike is a 1938 and mostly original - apart from this one major bodge!  My email is :-erniegavey@suremail.gg

Many thanks,

Ernie.

I'll aim to send the pic for '38 plates in the next day or so.
